Name: Pleurotus eryngii
Commercial name: King Oyster Mushrooms
They are works of art of gastronomy, they are easy to use & give impressive gourmet dishes. They have a superior umami* taste & texture compared to other pleurotus mushrooms, which is why they are called king mushrooms. They are preferred due to their characteristic taste and deliciousness, the multitude of recipes that can be used & their long shelf life. They are kept in the refrigerator for several days, if kept in their packaging covered by the existing special film.

* It is derived from the Japanese words umai (うまい) that translates as “wonderful” and mi (味), meaning “taste”. Essentially, it is the fifth taste.
